Functional Title : Director of Strength & Conditioning Classification: Salary - Exempt Division: Athletics Department: Strength Reports To: Director of Athletics Primary Function: Direct, develop and oversee the institution’s Athletics Strength & Conditioning program.
Develop, organize, and implement year-round strength & conditioning programs for LCU student-athletes including proper lifting techniques, speed development, plyometrics, nutrition, injury rehabilitation (in conjunction with Athletic Training), and recovery methods.
Conduct and monitor all aspects of the program in accordance with the rules and policies established by Lubbock Christian University, the Lone Star Conference, and the NCAA.
Communicate regularly and consistently with coaching and athletic training staff regarding pertinent details related to the strength & conditioning program.
Direct the testing and evaluation of student-athletes on a consistent basis.
Maintain a computer training database with information regarding each team as well as specific student-athletes.
Counsel student-athletes on basics of nutrition for health and wellness, training, competition, recovery, hydrations, travel, and supplementation.
Maintain a clean and sanitized weight room.
Assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes as requested.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics

Multiple years of experience working within athletics in a 4-year collegiate environment
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to do the following:
Be ambulatory around campus and in buildings.
Required to regularly sit and stand.
Frequently use wrist, hands and/or fingers to make small repetitive movements such as typing, distributing mail, and picking up small objects.
Ability to talk frequently to convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive verbal information.
Required to lift packages and/or move heavy objects, 50+lbs.
Work evenings and weekends.
