This position is responsible for the oversight and development of all strength, speed and conditioning programs for in-season and off-season training for a comprehensive intercollegiate athletics program.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervision of all full-time assistant strength coaches and staff.
• Budget oversight with the authority to approve and commits funds to acquire equipment, resources, and supplies.
• Collaborate with the Athletic Training staff to develop strength and conditioning injury rehab programs.
• Manage the Strength & Conditioning budget and make fiscal recommendations for maintaining and upgrading facilities.
• Research proven industry standards and best practices to stay current on the latest technology and programming.
• Educate strength staff and student-athletes on safe and effective lifting techniques.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Athletics.
• Effectively motivate staff and athletes to achieve maximum potential in all areas of performance.
• Per NCAA rules, assist during on-campus recruiting events for prospective student-athletes.
• Conduct fitness testing, computation of results, and evaluation of individual student-athletes to assess the strength and conditioning program's effectiveness.
• Attend meetings at the discretion of the Director of Athletics and the Assistant Director of Athletics.
• Promote Emory & Henry Athletics Strength & Conditioning through speaking, camps, and clinics.
• Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Athletics.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Athletics to help educate student-athletes.

About our ideal candidate

Qualifications

• Background and knowledge of designing & implementing strength & conditioning programs, having achieved professional certifications thru industry standards and recognized organizations such as CSCCa, CSCS, ISSA.
• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in Exercise Science or related field of study.
• Experience as a strength coach with professional and/or NCAA Athletic programs or equivalent required.
• Preferred experience designing & implementing strength & conditioning programs at the collegiate level or equivalent.
• Professional attributes needed for the position include excellent communication skills with administrators, coaches, athletic training staff, student-athletes, and other strength coaches.
• Solid organizational skills and detailed documentation abilities are required.
