Thiel College seeks a Director of Track and Field / Cross Country.

The Director of Track and Field / Cross Country serves as both the Men’s and Women’s Head coach for our Track and Field / Cross Country Programs. The Director of Track and Field / Cross Country is responsible for all aspects of both the men’s and women’s intercollegiate Track and Field / Cross Country programs while holistically developing student-athletes to be leaders.

Thiel College seeks a Director of Track and Field / Cross Country.

The Director of Track and Field / Cross Country serves as both the Men’s and Women’s Head coach for our Track and Field / Cross Country Programs. The Director of Track and Field / Cross Country is responsible for all aspects of both the men’s and women’s intercollegiate Track and Field / Cross Country programs while holistically developing student-athletes to be leaders.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee the men’s and women’s Track and Field / Cross Country programs and supervises the day-to-day operations.
• Teach/instruct their student-athletes in their designated sport (primary duty of all coaches).
• Monitor student-athletes academic performance and social behavior.
• Recruit, retain, and graduate quality student-athletes for Thiel College and the athletic program.
• Develop and implement a strategic recruiting plan - Consistently meet or exceed recruiting goals - Maintain target roster sizes.
• Maintain allotted budget.
• Coordinate with the Director of Athletics fundraising activities.
• Develop a competitive competition schedule in conjunction with the Director of Athletics.
• Coordinate and implement community service activities.
• Mentor and develop assistant coaches.
• Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
• Serve on campus committees as needed.
• Serve as a gameday administrator.
• Serve as facilities monitor of all Thiel College athletic facilities as directed by the Director of Athletics.
• Follow all rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA Division III, the Presidents Athletic Conference, and Thiel College.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Applicants are required to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. A master’s degree is preferred. 3-4 years of coaching experience at an NCAA program is desired. Competence in athletics management and leadership, an understanding of student-athlete development, and a deep commitment to the values the College promotes.

Candidates must be self-motivated, possess strong communication skills, and have solid organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills. They must also strive for excellence and take pride in everything they do.

Successful candidates must adhere to all NCAA, Presidents Athletic Conference, and institutional guidelines, policies, and rules. They must also demonstrate professional behavior while operating with integrity.
