Prepares and supervises the production of press releases, announcements, brochures, event materials, photographs, newsletters, etc.

Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. Assist with development and implementation of Boise State Athletics’ strategic communications plan and initiatives across multiple platforms, with a focus on social media.
Find, develop and strengthen storylines to showcase the historical, creative, innovative and pioneering mindset of Boise State Athletics in order to reinforce the narrative and position the department as an elite and forward-thinking institution.
Identify growth opportunities externally to strengthen communication, refine processes, maintain consistent messaging and maximize timing around the Boise State Athletics initiatives.
Survey opportunities to leverage internal/external communication channels of corporate partners in conjunction with Learfield, with a goal to further embed and share how partners support Boise State Athletics.
Help create, coordinate and monitor weekly content to drive the strategy, maintain consistent messaging, increase awareness and engagement.
Monitor effectiveness of communication strategies to achieve the desired goals.
Assist in providing creative direction, digital design and print graphic design services for the department including: mass emails using HTML, invitations, reports, direct mail pieces, proposals, online story-telling, and other mediums.
Assist in maintaining accurate lists of current and former student-athletes in support of fundraising/friendraising initiatives, and expansion of Boise State Athletics’ storytelling on the national level.
Help develop, maintain and monitor departmental branding efforts to remain consistent with university guidelines.
Compile information and statistics to be used towards annual reports and national award recognition.
Identify opportunities within the athletics department to strengthen communication processes to maintain consistent messaging, narrative, and maximize timing around the brand across all departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of social media and the best ways to utilize each platform
Excellent grammar, composition, and proofreading skills
Advanced knowledge of design and publishing concepts
Experience: thinking critically and using creative ways to solve problems. Communicating policies, procedures and complex concepts to a wide variety of skill and interest levels
Excellent organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
Ability to project manage overlapping deadlines.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external, local, regional and national media and connect them to stories, ideas, etc.
Creativity with an eye for visual and branding consistency.
Strong writing and editing skills with careful attention to detail.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Two (2) years experience
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Graphic Design or a directly related field
Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite with a concentration on Photoshop and InDesign
One(1) – two (2) years experience providing creative content/storytelling within collegiate athletics
One(1) – two (2) years experience working in Division I Athletics
