About the Job
Job Description

Williams College, a Division III institution and member of the New England Small College Athletics Conference (NESCAC), is seeking applicants for a part-time diving coach for the Women’s and Men’s diving teams.

Our facility has two 1-meter boards, two 3-meter boards, and a trampoline on deck with a spotting belt. The ideal candidate will have experience with NCAA rules and regulations, have a keen ability to coach and mentor all ability levels including national qualifiers, while understanding the rigors of the academic demands at Williams College.  In addition, a successful candidate will develop daily, weekly, and seasonal training plans that are complemented by a comprehensive dryland program, partner with our strength and conditioning coaches to ensure the weight program is diving specific, and promote an inclusive culture within the swimming and diving team and a positive environment that encourages student-athletes to strive for academic and athletic excellence.

This is a 9-month position running from September to May, working 26.5 hours per week. This position provides benefits as well as full tuition-remission of graduate school after six months of employment.

Williams College Swimming and Diving is committed to building a diverse and inclusive community and is especially interested in candidates who share those goals and have relevant experience. We strongly encourage candidates from underrepresented groups or who have experience working with a broadly diverse student population to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach new dives and techniques with an ability to analyze diving performances and identify areas needed for improvement

  • Safely use a trampoline and spotting rig for training and instructive purposes

  • Assist the Head Coach with team related duties as needed/assigned

  • Lead diving recruiting efforts for potential student-athletes including, but not limited to, correspondence, talent assessment, and scheduling on-campus visits

  • Assist in preparing and planning home meet operations and travel meet plans
