Position Function:

The Event Management & Facility Operations Fellow will perform duties related to assisting in all aspects of event management and facility operation for special events, athletic games, team practices and other programs, meetings and events as assigned. Responsibilities include pre-event facility set up, post-event break down and conversions, unlocking and securing event facilities and monitoring event operation procedures. Duties will include reporting facility maintenance issues for repair and providing support of the overall operation of scheduled events that may have direct contact with the public, athletic teams, and university leadership.

Salary Grade : 09

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in event management and operations for all sponsored contests, games, and events and the facilities that these activities and events are held in.
   
2. Performs a variety of general labor, maintenance and custodial upkeep of grounds, building and equipment related to event and facility operations.
   
3. Operate light duty tools and equipment such as vacuums, blowers, and hand tools.
   
4. Participate in event set-up, break-down and clean-up.
   
5. Provides customer service to game/event personnel, spectators, clients, athletic teams, and staff to ensure clean, secure, and safe game, event, and facility conditions at all times.
   
6. Responsible for working events and securing facilities at assigned events.
   
7. Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field with one (1) year of general knowledge and understanding of intercollegiate athletics.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to work long and irregular hours including weekends.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.
• Job frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping / kneeling/ crouching/ crawling, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires climbing or balancing and lifting up to 100 pounds.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
