Apply NowOperations & Events Management is a department within the Division of Student Affairs. The Events unit provides coordination of events in facilities managed by the Division of Student Affairs to ensure smooth execution of events and a positive representation of the Division and the University as a whole. Approximately 120 student staff are employed in the Events unit. Our diverse venues manage between 200 – 2750 event/meeting reservations annually.
Job Summary
Under direction of the Assistant Director, Events, manage events primarily associated with the University Credit Union Center and outdoor Fields. The University Credit Union Center is the largest indoor event venue on UC Davis’s campus and the home venue for several intercollegiate sports. The University Credit Union Center hosts many events that are critical to the campus mission and requires a flexible work schedule. Additional support may be needed in other campus event venues managed by the Division of Student Affairs.
Meet with clients to ensure coordination of all venue-related aspects of events including set-ups, technical requirements, capacity, and crowd control. Work with campus services units, including police, fire, Safety Services, Transportation Services, EH&S, and Risk Management to ensure the safe and successful production of events. Responsible for both front of house & back of house event management.
Approve event reservations submitted by campus departments, student organizations, and non-affiliate private clients. Develop event diagrams using CAD software. Produce and submit estimates and bills for events.
Recruit, train, and supervise student staff. Administer policies for student organizations, campus departments, and off campus event clients. Manage venue emergency plans according to university set standards and execute plans in event as necessary.
Maintain and operate equipment located within catwalk system, including but not limited to truss equipment, lighting fixtures, and a/v systems in the University Credit Union Center.. Works closely with Facility staff to identify maintenance projects, safety related building issues, and utilize the operations/facility workflow management system to track and follow requests to completion.
