Job Summary
The Facilities Coordinator III, under general supervision, oversees routine, preventative, and planned facility maintenance. Keeps buildings in safe, secure, condition and in constant working order. Oversees mechanical and electrical operations, HVAC, architecture, and landscaping to ensure building is a comfortable and safe facility for faculty, staff, students, and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manages property through the ordering and installation of equipment. Acts as surplus equipment and furniture coordinator, handling recyclable materials and sharps containers.
Manages personnel actions to include time reports, leave request approvals, and annual evaluations. Provides appropriate professional development opportunities for facilities staff.
Prepares and manages course equipment shipments in support of certain mobile programs, equipment checks, and troubleshooting. Receives and distributes supplies/mail/specimen from post offices, docks, bus depots, and labs. Develops and maintains the general supply inventory and equipment storage for assigned campuses. Includes organizing and maintaining storage facilities.
Coordinates and prepares required work orders for electrical, plumbing, custodial, carpentry, key, and sign shops to perform work required to maintain facilities for instructional use.
Assists staff and faculty with facility requests, including furniture/equipment moving and assembling, office painting, building renovations, mounting bulletin boards, replacing light bulbs, delivering paper, etc.
Promotes safe building access practices for faculty, staff, and student workers, providing reminders as necessary and reporting incidents or accidents when required if safety rules are compromised.
Reports and schedules fire drills and emergency evacuation drills. Serves as primary contact for after-hours building emergencies.
Schedules maintenance on University departmental vehicles. Tags new acquisitions and proper disposal of unusable furniture/equipment.
Maintains accurate inventory records and performs annual departmental inventory certification for submission to Property Management.
Coordinates requests for rekeying entry access and requests for additional keys to a location.
Prepares and maintains room reservation records requests. Hires, trains, and supervises students and temporary workers to meet demands of facility use.
Serves as the liaison for the University with outside vendors for maintenance and repairs at facilities. Assists, as needed, on future growth and building development for the University.

Additional Responsibilities
Maintain ultimate responsibility for coordination, management and communication of comprehensive facilities’ schedule to include all events (internal, external and athletic) and upkeep to all parties involved.
Responsible for the security and storage of equipment and/or for facilitating spaces for such storage.
Oversee and coordinate the daily maintenance and preparations of the athletic fields.
Responsible for game day administration to include game day preparation and cleanup.
Minimum Requirements
Education – Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.
Experience – Four years of related experience in facilities, building maintenance, or facilities scheduling and inventory.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
Must possess ability to plan, develop, organize and manage all aspects of the operational activities of the facility.
Ability to demonstrate good judgement and respond quickly and professionally under pressure and in a very open and public environment.
Knowledge in OSHA standards in maintaining a safe working environment.

Salary: $48,110.40/annually
