Level of Decision Making

Football Quality Control Assistant, Special Teams is counted on to work independently and make decisions in reviewing and collecting data, development of practice and game plans, on-campus evaluation of prospect video and on-campus activities involving selection of prospective cadet-athletes, and progression of analytic and research projects. Work is reviewed and approved by coaches (often working directly together) with expectations established and problems addressed as they arise.

Success in this position will be evaluated by the Supervisor on the employee’s performance in a variety of areas, including but not limited to: Commitment to AWPAA Mission, Vision and Values; and supporting the AWPAA Strategic Plan and Priority Results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

40 % Practice and Game Planning:

• Generating scripts and cards for practice, managing practice timelines and deadlines, organizing/creating presentations for pre-practice meetings and post practice film evaluation.
• Organizing/creating game call sheets and game management products.

35% Recruiting:

• Catalog results from film evaluations for prospects.
• Develop and prioritize communication plans for coaches to execute.
• Ensure documentation is complete for all required contacts by coaches.
• Set up calls, travel and visit times for coaches.
• Assist recruiting staff with on-campus visits.

10% Analytics:

• Synch with analytics staff members to develop products for presentations to coaches and understand gameday impacts on planning process.
• Work with Pro Football Focus analytics resource to break down opponents and self-scout.

10% Football Research and Development:

• Break down film of opponents and other teams of interest to gauge trends and emerging tactics, techniques, and procedures. Internet and personal research of other teams’ communications for personnel and program developments.

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements

• This position must be able to handle the physical demands of practice, office hours and recruiting events.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

• Frequently moves boxes/equipment weighing up to up to 30 lbs. around the office and across campus for various events.

• The person in this position frequently communicates with recruiting staff, coaches, and cadets to enhance their performance. Must be able to exchange accurate information with all parties and develop trusting relationships.

• Must be able to detect performance issues from long distances.

• Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.

• Long hours and work on weekends will be customary to this position.

Travel

This position must be able to travel to home and away competitions with overnight hotel stay as well as occasional professional development events.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
• Four (4) years of experience playing and/or coaching in the sport of football.
• Knowledgeable in all the Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with Recruiting Software (preferably ARMS and Whistle).
• Extensive knowledge in social media platforms (Instagram and X primarily).
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with coaches, administrators, Cadet-athletes, prospective Cadet-athletes, parents, etc.
• Takes initiative, hardworking, ability/willingness to figure out solutions to problems independently, creative.
• Extremely organized, detail oriented, self-starter and intrinsically motivated.
• Strong management skills; Proven ability to multi-task effectively.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree,or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
• NFL or FBS experience.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States of America, without sponsorship.
• Must be eligible to work on a military installation, including a willingness to submit to a background screen.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Pay Range

$42,000 - $48,000

Sign-on bonus based on policy.

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries that AWPAA believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted position. AWPAA expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would AWPAA consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
