This position serves as the primary liaison between former football student-athletes, coaches, and the current football staff and current student-athletes, fostering a lifelong connection that supports the program’s goals, traditions, and community presence. This position will work alongside the alumni relations department and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the football program and athletics department goals are met.
In addition, this position will play a key role in building and maintaining positive relationships with high school coaches and athletic programs, across the region and nation, to support ongoing recruiting and community engagement efforts. The incumbent will ensure that all activities and interactions are conducted in full compliance with NCAA, Big Ten Conference, University of Wisconsin–Madison, and Athletics Department policies, procedures, and regulations.
May travel with assigned team to ensure compliance with applicable state and university rules
Schedules logistics, secures resources, and finalizes team scheduling of facilities and travel for games, practices, camps, clinics, and special events
Evaluates existing strategies, policies, and procedures and makes recommendations to unit leadership for program enhancement; ensures compliance with existing requirements
Manages the unit or program budget
Monitors student-athlete academic eligibility and status to ensure compliance with established rules and regulations
May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees

The minimum starting salary is $72,000, but may be negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.

At least 2 years of experience in alumni relations, athletic administration, event planning, or related field
Must be knowledgeable of the rules and regulations governing the NCAA and B1G conference
Proven organizational and event planning/management skills
Proficiency with social media and digital marketing tools
Ability to multi-task and work under time constraints
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to work evenings and weekends, and travel as needed
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field

Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% Academic Staff appointment. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
