Football Assistant Coach

About the Role:

The Football Assistant Coach will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing the skills of our football team members while fostering a positive and competitive environment. This position requires collaboration with the head coach to design and implement training programs that focus on both individual and team performance. The assistant coach will also be responsible for analyzing game footage to provide constructive feedback and strategies for improvement. Additionally, this role involves mentoring players, promoting teamwork, and ensuring adherence to the rules and regulations of the sport. Ultimately, the assistant coach will contribute to the overall success of the team, both on and off the field, by instilling discipline, sportsmanship, and a love for the game.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Previous experience in coaching or playing football at a competitive level.
• Demonstrated knowledge of athletics and sports coaching principles specifically in the area of Football.  
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively collaborate with coaches, athletes, and school personnel.
• Basic proficiency in using social media platforms for sports promotion. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience managing or contributing to social media campaigns for sports teams.

• 2-3 years of successful experience working with student athletes, preferably in a college or high level high school environment or related field.  
• High level of knowledge of the rules, techniques and skills of football.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practice sessions.
• Evaluate player performance and provide feedback to enhance skills.
• Support the development of game strategies and tactics.
• Foster a positive team culture and encourage player engagement.
• Monitor player health and safety during practices and games.
• Assist in organizing team travel, equipment management, and compliance with school and league regulations. 
• Recruiting responsibilities.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for effectively conveying strategies and motivating players. Leadership skills will be utilized daily to guide the team and foster a collaborative environment. Analytical skills are important for reviewing game footage and developing improvement plans tailored to individual players. Time management skills will help in organizing practice schedules and balancing various responsibilities. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of sports psychology, can enhance the coaching approach by addressing players' mental resilience and focus.
