The Defensive Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the organization and management of an NCAA Division III Football program in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the Athletics Department and Whittier College. The Candidate must exhibit excellent communication skills, have high ethical standards, and is expected to contribute to the overall atmosphere of the Department of Athletics by establishing and maintaining positive, team-oriented working relationships with all members of the athletic department and College. The successful candidate will have experience in recruiting, developing and retaining student-athletes at the NCAA Division III level. The candidate must also possess the leadership ability to oversee and coordinate a successful defensive unit; manage, supervise and evaluate and provide leadership for the defensive coaching staff; and possess the knowledge and experience to coach a defensive position group.
The position will also entail secondary athletic administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director of Athletics.
Hours: Position requires irregular office hours including after-hours and weekend work to attend competitions, practices, and college events. Consecutive days of work related activity often exceed seven or more during season. Office hours will be established in consultation with the Executive Director of Athletics

Salary Range: $75,000 annually; Salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge.
