Target hiring range for this position will be between $49,850-$52,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Job Summary:
The purpose of the Graduate Assistant is to help in all phases of a successful Football Program including, but not limited to, film breakdown, data entry, advance scouting, practice planning and execution, coaching and recruiting. This position will allow you to utilize your skills on the job, and in the classroom, as you pursue your master’s degree. Morning, evening, and weekend hours as dictated by practice, games, recruiting and other football related events are required.
Specific Responsibilities :
· Assists the head coach or designated coordinator with coaching and training the Northwestern football team.
· Assists the head coach or coordinator with recruiting prospective student-athletes.
· Assists with the psychological preparation of team in both pre-game and post-game; and for developing motivational approach to practice and games.
· Graduate Assistants are limited in the scope of activities that involve prospect aged students that they may engage in. All such activities must be pre-approved by the Compliance Office in advance. Under no circumstances may a Graduate Assistant provide private lessons to any prospect, regardless of gender or sport, who has started classes for the ninth grade.

· Graduate Assistants are prohibited from contacting and evaluating prospective student-athletes off campus.
· Graduate Assistants are permitted to initiate or receive phone calls from prospects and their parents or guardians provided they have successfully completed the NCAA Coaches Recruiting exam.
· Graduate Assistants are permitted to meet with prospects on the Northwestern University campus and attend meals in conjunction with an official visit.
· Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.

· This position is contingent upon successful acceptance to a Northwestern University Graduate program
Preferred Qualifications:
· Per NCAA bylaw: this role will be filled by an individual who has received their first baccalaureate degree or has exhausted athletics eligibility (whichever occurs later) within the previous seven years.

· Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred.
