The Football Senior Sports Dietitian is responsible for the leadership and development of Sports Nutrition for the University of Oregon football program. Primary objectives include the development of processes and procedures, mentorship of staff, innovation of systems, and setting the standard for service within the sports nutrition department. Responsibilities also include individual student athlete assessment and nutrition consultation, team education, planning and execution of fueling strategies, and documentation and reporting of student athlete progress. This position will also be responsible for maintaining and distributing product at fueling stations as needed.
The Senior Sports Dietitian reports to the Director of Performance & Sports Science and supervises one full-time employee.
Special Requirement:
This position will require a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a University of Oregon Driver's Certification.
• Master's degree in dietetics/nutrition or related field.
• Five years post-graduate experience with three years of experience providing performance nutrition support to collegiate or professional level American football athletes.
• Must obtain CSSD, RD, or an alternate nutrition certification to practice within the state of Oregon within 3 months of start date.
• Supervisory experience overseeing full-time employees.
• Ability to remain organized, adapt, and execute effectively in dynamic, fast-changing environments.
• Ability to influence stakeholders through impactful written and verbal communication.
• Adept with technology and data management.
• Credential of board-certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) or equivalent additional training in sports nutrition.
• Tangible examples of innovation in the sports nutrition setting.
• Contribution to the growth and development of the field of sports nutrition through research or conference presentations.
