The Assistant Athletic Director for Media is responsible for managing the athletics department’s public communications, media relations, and digital storytelling. The Assistant Athletic Director for Media also ensures the effective execution of game day events.

Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy to promote all sports programs
Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets to secure coverage of athletes, coaches, and events
Promote athletic achievements, milestones, awards, and special events through press releases, media kits, and event coverage
Oversee the athletics website, ensuring schedules, rosters, bios, results, and news are accurate and up to date
Manage and create engaging content for official athletics social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X)
Produce graphics, photos, videos, and multimedia to support promotional campaigns
Maintain brand consistency across all digital platforms
Develop and distribute print and digital publications such as fact books, game notes, and press releases
Compile and report statistics to conferences and governing bodies

Minimum Job Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Certificates, Licenses or Registrations
CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required upon hire.

Physical Demands
Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours/day. Some lifting (up to 25 pounds occasionally), bending, and carrying. Ability to travel extensively. The Ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Bachelors or better in Communication or related field.

Valid driver’s license with the ability to be approved to operate university-issued vehicles
