ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serve as the primary game manager for assigned home athletic contests, demonstrating professionalism when interacting with student-athletes, coaches, officials, spectators, and campus partners.
Coordinate pre-game, in-game, and post-game operations for designated sports while maintaining strong attention to detail to ensure successful event execution.
Ensure facilities are prepared prior to competition, including field/court setup, signage, equipment, and game-day materials, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and presentation.
Coordinate effectively with officials, visiting teams, athletic trainers, security personnel, facilities staff, ticketing, concessions, and event personnel, providing excellent customer service and fostering positive working relationships.
Supervise game-day staff, student workers, volunteers, and table crews, promoting teamwork, accountability, and collaborative event management.
Manage the official game timeline, ensuring adherence to NCAA and conference regulations while responding efficiently to schedule adjustments and operational needs.
Independently identify, assess, and resolve game-day operational issues in a timely and professional manner while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies and procedures.
Assist with crowd management and emergency response procedures when necessary, exercising sound judgment and effective decision-making.
Complete post-event facility walkthroughs and ensure proper breakdown and storage of equipment, maintaining attention to detail and operational standards.
Maintain effective communication and positive working relationships with coaches, administrators, support staff, officials, and spectators before, during, and after events.
Work collaboratively as part of the athletics event management team to support successful game-day operations and departmental initiatives.
Contribute to the success of the department by performing all other duties as needed to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of the College.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in sports management, recreation, business, or a related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Previous experience in athletics, event management, or game operations is preferred.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on athletic schedules is required.
Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules and intercollegiate athletics is preferred.
Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
Experience supervising event staff or volunteers is preferred.
Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently up to the duration of an athletic contest (typically 3–6 hours or longer).
Frequent walking between athletic facilities, seating areas, locker rooms, and operational locations to coordinate game-day activities.
Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and climbing stairs while setting up, monitoring, or addressing operational needs.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis (such as signage, tables, radios, coolers, or game materials).
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate radios, computers, tablets, scorekeeping equipment, and other office or event-related technology.
Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and via two-way radio in environments with elevated crowd noise.
Visual ability to monitor game operations, identify safety concerns, read schedules and event documentation, and observe activities across athletic venues.
Ability to respond quickly and move throughout athletic facilities in the event of emergencies or unexpected operational issues.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in indoor and outdoor collegiate athletic facilities, including gymnasiums, stadiums, fields, courts, and other competition venues.
Regular exposure to varying weather conditions during outdoor events, including heat, humidity, cold, wind, rain, and direct sunlight.
Frequent interaction with student-athletes, coaches, officials, game personnel, spectators, vendors, and campus staff in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Work may involve exposure to elevated noise levels from public address systems, music, crowds, and athletic competition.
Position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and respond effectively to changing circumstances or emergency situations during events.
Schedule consists primarily of evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional daytime hours, based on the College's athletic competition calendar.
Work is performed independently and as part of a collaborative event management team, requiring regular communication and coordination with Athletics staff, Campus Safety, Facilities, and other support personnel.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Routine use of personal protective equipment is not required. However, the employee may be required to wear appropriate PPE, such as high-visibility vests, gloves, or other protective equipment, when assisting with event setup or breakdown, working in restricted operational areas, or when required by College safety policies or specific event conditions.
