Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruiting
Recruiting Evaluation (Men’s & Women’s Basketball): Research / evaluate the on- and off-court fit of prospective student-athletes at St. Joe’s – both high school and transfer prospective student-athletes
Revenue Share (Men’s & Women’s Basketball): Identify the revenue share budgets of A10, Big 5 and other peer groups through use of basketball network, word of mouth, and publically available data
Recruiting Presentations (Men’s Basketball): Produce creative digital, print, and video materials to strengthen the program brand and appeal
Student-Athlete NIL Activities (Men’s Basketball)
NBA Scouts & Agents (Men’s Basketball)
Serve at the program expert on agents and representatives
Serve as the point of contact for all NBA scouts and other personnel, including practice and game attendance and outreach
Game Scheduling (Men’s Basketball)
Use metrics to identify the optimal schedule model each season based on the team’s goals
Work with the head and assigned assistant coach to create the specific schedule each season, with a focus on competitive success and revenue generation
Recommend potential foreign tours, in-season international travel for competition, and new summer events (pending NCAA rule changes) – including a comprehensive revenue/expense analysis for each proposed event
Administrative Duties (Men’s Basketball)
Oversee the men’s basketball budget
Serve as the men’s basketball liaison with Human Resources
Responsible for strategic technology decisions, in conjunction with the University and department’s information technology personnel
Supervise all members of the men’s basketball staff (non-coaches)
Assist in program communication and collaboration with former men’s basketball student-athletes
Camps
Evaluate the possibility of generating revenue and fans, and creating exposure for the University, by hosting camps and clinics
Serve as camp director
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
7-10 years of related experience in the Division I or professional college basketball
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Detail-oriented, organized and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Must be self-directed, motivated and able to work independently and under pressure
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with a diverse group of internal and external constituents
Serve as an example for staff and colleagues with a high level of fiscal, ethical, and personal integrity
Exude a customer service-focused approach to the position
Adherence to NCAA and member conference rules and regulations
The successful candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background check
The successful candidate may be required to obtain First Aid, CPR, motor vehicle safety certification, and other job-related certification
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Position requires some evening and weekend hours
Some travel required, but the incumbent will not be required to attend all away contests
