Wiley College is currently seeking an individual with overall leadership talent in the sports program including recruiting, skill instruction, student-athlete development, budget management, and developing a competition schedule. The successful candidate will promote a philosophy of educational welfare, sportsmanship and conduct in alignment with the College's mission.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for organizing and directing all aspects of the men's and women's golf programs. Administer all phases of an NAIA golf program. Coach, teach and assist in the development of players during practices and competitions. Develop and supervise the student-athletes in the golf program, by implementing strategies to motivate individual and team performance. Recruit and retain academically and athletically qualified students.
• Develop and organize recruiting records, logs, and contact information for a sports program per NAIA regulations. Recruit student-athletes and support future athletes through the admission process. Monitors academic progress of athletes to ensure player eligibility. Demonstrates game techniques. Participates in the pre- and post-workouts.

• Schedule non-conference matches in competitive season. Create long term player development including technical, tactical and physical development of individual players. Organize, prepare and supervise all training practices and contests. Responsible for working with athletic administration to place orders for all equipment, apparel, and gear.
• Work with the Administrative Assistant to schedule and coordinate all travel to practices and competitions. Maintain responsibility for budget control by adhering to operational budgets. Undertake public relations and promotional activities to promote the golf team.
• Promote the athletic programs through community events, fundraising, public speaking and marketing.
• Teach fundamentals and strategies of golf at the collegiate-level.
• Adhere to all Wiley College policies, guidelines, Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletic (NAIA) rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree
• Five years of coaching/teaching experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of and experience in recruiting and coaching at the collegiate level.
• Ability to lead a program with a tradition of academic and athletic excellence, preparing students to be productive people in a dynamic world.
