. Strategic deployment of graduate assistant positions is essential to ensure that limited resources are utilized in a manner consistent with the philosophy of

. Graduate assistants provide experiential learning in select areas and to assist the individual in a successful transition to future educational and professional opportunities.
Assist with the management of the athletic facilities.
Assist with the operation of all athletic and recreation facilities, including staff and program supervision, facility inspections, program marketing and promotions, equipment upkeep and inventory, as well as policy development and enforcement.
Make satisfactory progress on degree program and maintain good academic standing (
GPA
> 3.0)
Assist with the hiring, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating of student employees.
Assist with athletic and elevated club sports event management and supervision.
Utilize
EMS
, Fusion and IMLeagues software for daily and event operations.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Ability to work with and meet deadlines along with working nights and weekends.
Excellent communication skills.
CPR
/First Aid/
AED
required or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment.
Strong organizational and time management skills
Experience in sports (events) management
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, social media platforms and other MS Office
Work shifts include afternoon, evening and some weekend hours.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
This special appointment provides a stipend of $10,800.00 for the 2024-2025 academic year and a graduate tuition waiver available for up to 18 credit hours per academic year including the immediately following summer session.

Wayne State College is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Athletic Events & Operations. A total (maximum) of 800 hours of work is required for this Graduate Assistantship. Typically, twenty-five (25) hours of work will be assigned per week by your supervisor during the Academic Year. The special appointment provides a stipend of $10,800.00 for the 2024-2025 academic year and a graduate tuition waiver available for up to 18 credit hours per academic year including the immediately following summer session. All fees will be the responsibility of the student regardless of online or on-campus. Tuition remissions awarded for online courses will not exceed the comparable amount provided for an on-campus course for a resident student.
This is an appointment with the opportunity of renewal after the first year.
