Job Title: Graduate Assistant-Athletics/Creative Content

General Summary: Support the communications efforts for the athletics department and its 22 varsity sports and eight reserve sports by contributing high-quality photos and video content, coordinating social media efforts, and producing marketing content to enhance the game day experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Shooting, producing, and editing video content for various platforms; Assisting with the photography and videography of media days; Brainstorm, create, and publish both graphic and video content across the athletic department’s social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), website, YouTube, and other platforms; Contribute to the maintenance, organization, and oversight of the overall content calendar; Perform other duties as assigned.

Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities: Assist in the supervision of student workers in both office and game-day settings.

Education & Experience Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree within the preferred area of study of Digital Media, Film, and Broadcasting, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or Sports Management. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects in order to complete them efficiently and on time. Knowledge and/or background in athletics, Excellent computer skills desirable.

Physical Requirements: Some lifting up to 40 lbs. necessary.

Other Skills & Abilities: Proficient or basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects); Experience in advanced content creation, including video and photo shooting and editing skills; An understanding of relevant social media platforms

Other Information & Attributes: Regularly requires evening and weekend work.
