The Graduate Assistant is a ten-month position starting August 2024, and is renewable for a second year (two years total). The second year appointment is contingent upon successful completion of GA duties and responsibilities. All GA’s must adhere to their graduate program requirements including maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA and must be enrolled in graduate coursework in each semester of the appointment.
Available positions:
Coaching: The primary responsibility will be to assist the head coach in all facets of the program, including the recruitment of student-athletes, organization and planning of practices, game preparation, administrative duties, scouting and monitoring of student-athlete academic progress. Previous participation and/or coaching experience is preferred. Positions available: Baseball, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Men’s Lacrosse, Women’s Lacrosse, Softball, Track and XC, Volleyball, Women’s Wrestling, Women’s Soccer
Operations: Assist the department and individual coaches with operational and administrative tasks. No coaching experience necessary. Ideal candidates should want to pursue a career in collegiate athletic operations or administration.
Athletic Training Operations: Responsibilities include managing administrative paperwork, ensuring seamless practice and game setups, assisting with inventory management, and contributing to the day-to-day operations of the department. This position offers a valuable opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in athletic training administration while contributing to the overall success of the athletic program.
Athletic Training: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, practice and event coverage, travel, evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries, maintenance of athletic training facilities and other duties as assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine. Sport assignment is still to be determined. Must be certified.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Acceptance into a Graduate Program at Otterbein/Antioch University
Experience in college athletics preferred
Must live locally while classes are in session
