Bobcat Hockey creates a raucous atmosphere at Bird Ice Arena each weekend, regularly bringing in 1,200 fans each Friday and Saturday night including local TV coverage and web streaming on game nights as well as consistent press coverage. Our players practice four times a week from 9:00 to 11:00 am, Monday-Thursday, with home game day morning ice on Friday. We have access to a qualified strength and conditioning training staff at Carin Center, which resides in Peden Stadium, where our players work out three times a week in-season. Carin Center caters to Ohio’s 21
NCAA
Division I varsity sports. Our players are well looked after throughout the year with a full time athletic trainer specifically catering to our teams on a daily basis.

Division I Men’s Ice Hockey is looking for candidates to fill the role of graduate assistant coach. The position is in charge of all duties related to the running of a perennial national contending
ACHA
Division I team. This includes coaching, scouting, recruiting, and assisting with practices. Candidate will also be involved with miscellaneous events when needed pertaining to Ohio University’s Department of Student Affairs an University Well being and Recreation, under which Bird Arena resides. Actively contribute as a staff member of the Department of Well-Being & Recreation and Division of Student Affairs. Promote and facilitate effective communication and collaborative efforts across all department, divisional, university and community partners. Maintain current knowledge of the University, its environment, purpose and affairs to be prepared to respond to appropriate issues. Actively participate in professional development opportunities when available and maintain current knowledge of current trends and best practices within area of responsibility. Advocate and promote diversity and inclusion through roles and responsibilities in support of department, division, and university initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.
