Reporting to the Director of Equipment Operations, the Graduate Assistant for Equipment Operations is responsible for assisting in the management of the day-to-day operations of the equipment room. The GA will assist in the ordering, distributing, fitting, repairing, budgeting, and laundering of all sports program equipment and apparel. This individual will assist in overseeing the ordering/inventory control process for all 22 intercollegiate athletic sports programs at Post University. This individual will also assist with all aspects of contest management.
The selected applicant will receive a 50% tuition waiver and a stipend. The applicant will be responsible for any fees associated with the program and housing. This position is renewable for the next academic year, conditional upon satisfactory performance, availability of funds, and adherence to all Post University academic requirements and employment protocols.
Essential Functions : Develop and maintain a system to facilitate standard inventory reports for the division of Athletics and Recreation, including for purposes of NCAA compliance, gender equipment, and University requirements. Fitting, issuing, and repairing sports program equipment and apparel. Coordinating all Department of Athletics equipment ordering and exchanges, including working directly with our apparel representative. Assist with preparing requests for proposals/bids and analyzing bids and proposals, and selecting vendors that meet the quality and fiscal requirements of our department. Hire, train, schedule, and manage work-study students, interns, and student managers. Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to the NCAA, Conference, University, and the Department of Athletics Code of Ethics and rules.
Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and/or Director of Equipment Operations/Assistant Director of Contest Management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Communicate with administrators, coaches, and student-athletes on a daily basis. Excellent oral and written communication is necessary. Basic math skills with the ability to prepare requests for bids. Strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability for problem-solving. Ability to stay calm in stressful situations. Ability to react quickly to unforeseen immediate demands. Ability to prepare written bids, and fit/repair equipment and apparel. Ability to use computer-based programs.

Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of professional experience in equipment room management or an equipment room setting.
