The University of the Incarnate Word, a Division I member of the Southland Conference invites applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Coach (Graduate Assistant). This is a student position open to current UIW graduate students.This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about Title IX violations. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.
Responsible for all scheduling, training, testing, organization, and administration of teams as assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. This may include educating student-athletes in areas of nutrition and banned substances; Assist directly with assigned sports program as needed; Responsible for maintenance of the weight room, supplement areas, and all equipment; Work effectively with all Sports Medicine, Sports coaches, Administration, and University staff; Perform any other duties the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach may assign.
Qualifications
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills;-Demonstrate a willingness to enforce weight room, UIW athletic department rules/ policies, and NCAA rules at all times;-Demonstrated proficiency in teaching the Olympic Lifts and their variations;-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

-One (1) year working in a collegiate strength & conditioning program;-Prior experience as a collegiate student-athlete
-Documented progress toward any or all of the following certifications: S.C.C.C, USAW,C.S.C.S
-Up to 25 hours per week, varied hours;-Some night & weekend hours will be required at select points of the calendar year
Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
