Job Description

Position Summary

The Graduate Assistant position works under the supervision of the Head Coach of Men’s Wrestling. This role is responsible for assisting in the comprehensive day to day operations of the women’s wrestling program. Candidates are required to excel in communication skills, punctuality, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Irregular work hours such as weekends, holidays, and evenings are to be expected.

 ** Responsibilities:**

  • Assist in recruiting efforts by evaluating prospective student-athletes, attending recruiting events, and building relationships with recruits.
  • Assist in coaching wrestling athletes, focusing on improving their technique, form, and mental preparation.
  • Assist the head coach in executing game strategies during practices and wrestling matches.
  • Assist with scheduling, planning travel itineraries, and gameday preparations.
  • Perform any other job-related duties assigned by the Head Coach and Assistant Coaches.

 ** Qualifications:**

  • Must be admitted and enrolled in a graduate program at Avila University. International students are not eligible for graduate assistantships.
