Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Graduate Assistant for Compliance reports to the Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operation and will work with various aspects of the compliance program. This position will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Compliance Office and will help ensure that the University’s 20 varsity sports are following NCAA, Conference Carolina, Gulf South, and institutional regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in developing and maintaining comprehensive rules education program for administrators, coaches, student-athletes, boosters, fans, prospective students, parents, and advisors (regular emails to staff, social media management, etc.)
• Administration of student-athlete, coach, and staff compliance forms, and monitoring of student-athlete awards and extra benefits
• Monitoring playing and practice seasons (including all countable and required student-athlete activities)
• Reviewing camps to ensure compliance with NCAA legislation.
• Assisting with rules, conducting education meetings, and recruiting related audits/reviews
• In collaboration with the Ticket Office, the Compliance Coordinator will monitor complimentary admissions for prospective student-athletes, high school coaches, and guests of current student-athletes.
• Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Mobility and ability to lift equipment or other items of 50 pounds.
• Hearing well enough to communicate with students and co-workers.
• Visual ability to drive, read and use a computer.
• Cognitive/Emotional:ability to critically think and concentrate.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

• The position is a part-time position in Athletics. The Graduate Assistant for Compliance reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director of Internal Operations.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• The Graduate Assistant for Compliance is required to work according to athletic game schedules, meeting schedules as well as maintaining normal office hours.

TRAVEL:

• Travel is required for conference and other required meetings.
