Cumberland University is looking to hire two (2) Graduate Assistants - Sports Performance Coaches

ANTICIPATED START DATE:

• Fall 2026 – July 28 th is preferred (can be flexible)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and implementation of training programs for multiple assigned sports
• Assisting with training for Football
• Cleaning and maintenance of weight room and equipment
• Other duties as assigned
• 2-year Commitment

COMPENSATION:

• Full tuition waiver
• On-Campus Housing covered
• Full Meal Plan covered

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Must gain acceptance into either the Sports Management or Sport and Exercise Science graduate program at Cumberland University (potential for GRE test score to be waived provided candidate completes other requirements)
• Previous Collegiate Sports Performance Coaching experience (internships)
• Must possess or working towards a Strength & Conditioning certification (CSCS) and CPR/First Aid certification
• Must have a 3.0 or above overall GPA

DESIRED SKILLS:

• USAW Certification - Experience coaching the Olympic lifts
• Experience with Football, Baseball, and/or Powerlifting preferred
• Collegiate athletic experience a plus
• Military service a plus
• Experience using the Teambuildr Training platform a plus
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and work ethic
• Excellent Organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Record keeping and reporting skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Basic data analysis skills preferred
