Anticipated Dates: Position Available Summer/Fall 2024

Job Description: Waynesburg University Department of Athletics is seeking a graduate student to assist staff and coaches with the day-to-day operations of the department. Position entails working 19 hours a week in the Athletic Department. The graduate assistant will report to the Athletic Director. Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the direction of assigned athletic teams
  • Assist in the organization of practice sessions
  • Must have an active Strength and Conditioning Certification (preferably CSCS through NSCA, a CSCCa, or a NCCA through NCSF) or be able to obtain one
  • Work in accordance with all staff members of the Athletics Department and Waynesburg University
  • Represent Waynesburg University Athletic Department in a positive manner
  • Recruit qualified student athletes to participate in the athletic program, as directed
  • Assist in the preparation of game and practice sites
  • Possess the ability to communicate the mission of the University and the goals of the Athletic Department to student athletes
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the University
  • Comply with all rules affiliated with Waynesburg University, the Presidents Athletic Conference, and Division III of the NCAA
  • As directed, serve as an academic mentor
  • Provide support for current student leadership programs and initiatives, including FCA and activities held in conjunction with Student Services.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director
