The Grounds Turf Manager at the University of Oklahoma plays a pivotal role overseeing the day-to-day operations, agronomic programming, and maintenance of athletic properties, with a specific focus on the state-of-the-art Loves Field softball facility and Marita Hines softball facilities. This position requires effective management of all games and collaboration with the Operations Coordinator to make strategic decisions that align with facility needs, schedule, camps, and weather conditions. Key responsibilities include supervising the field maintenance staff for Softball facilities and ensuring the seamless execution of daily tasks while prioritizing safety protocols. The Grounds Turf Manager will actively communicate with operations and coaching personnel to establish and adjust field maintenance schedules. Additionally, the role involves promptly recognizing and reporting any problems or changes in fields or equipment. As a liaison with marketing, the Grounds Turf Manager will execute fieldwork in accordance with promotions both before and after events. Attendance at softball operations meetings will be crucial for staying informed and providing valuable input on field conditions, weather scenarios, and practice schedules. This position also encompasses the essential task of preparing, laying out, and painting all field markings and decorations in strict accordance with the current NCAA and Big 12, and future SEC rules. The Grounds Turf Manager plays a vital role in maintaining the standards and regulations set forth by collegiate athletics, contributing to the overall success of the softball program at the University of Oklahoma.
