Position Summary Information
Work as part of a coordinated team effort to mow and maintain the landscaping and grounds of Elon University. High school diploma or equivalent required.Work experience with the operation of equipment is important, proper training methods will be applied to further enhance the knowledge of these individuals.

Full time employees as groundskeepers that make up the mowing crew are assigned season help (temporary employees). Groundskeepers must then be able to delegate and be mindful of the work that is being completed by the seasonal help. Communicating is essential to be able to complete the tasks at hand.

Individual to work as part of a coordinated team effort to mow and maintain the landscaping and grounds of the Elon University campus. This positions essential to the over all aesthetics that has been established at Elon University.
The primary objective is the mowing of the campus grounds and other re1ated property that has to be maintained by our staff. Dependent on experience or training individuals will make up one or two groups that are assigned areas that are their responsibility to be mowed. This also includes trimming, edging, and blowing off of walks and roads.The operation and maintenance of the equipment is essential to our success as a department. Groundskeepers need to demonstrate the ability to look, listen, and feel if a piece of equipment they are operating is functioning properly. Daily preventative maintenance by operators will ensure for the care of their equipment. If there is a problem they are to report it to the manager or mechanic to address it.Secondarily, groundskeepers are assigned a number of tasks according to the time of year and additional responsibilities delegated by the manager. Tasks range from landscape renovation, fertility program, ground repan-, and pine needling.Perform scheduled maintenance activities to include but not limited to the support of special events, projects, conferences, and other activities hosted on the campus of Elon University.

A significant portion of the work may be outside in the vicinity of noisy and hazardous grounds equipment. The interior work environment may be moderately noisy and involve shop maintenance tools, equipment and lubricants.
