Department: Athletics

Pay Rate: $13.75/hour

No. of Anticipated Weekly Hours: 6-10 hours. Shifts from 12p-3p and 7p-9p

Position Overview: This student will assist in the operation of the college gymnasium, including supervising and maintaining the gymnasium facilities, assisting students with equipment, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the gymnasium during open hours, ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
• Enforce facility rules and policies to ensure the safety and proper conduct of users.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment for practices, games, and other events as required.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the gymnasium, including regular inspections of floors, bleachers, and equipment.
• Monitor the condition of equipment and report maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of gym usage, incidents, and maintenance needs.
• Provide assistance to users with equipment requests and ensure the proper return of items.
• Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere in the gymnasium.
• Support staff and coaches during athletic events as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Current enrollment as a student at the college that is approved for work-study/program through Financial Aid.
• Interest in sports, physical education, or facility management.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of sports and gym equipment.
• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, based on gymnasium schedule.
• Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR (certification preferred but not required).
