Simpson Colege invites applicatins for the new created position of Head Coach - Acrobatics & Tumbling. This positin will oversee entire operations for the Acrobatics & Tumbling program. Position will also serve as the recruiting coordinator for the cheer & dance programs.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Serves as a representative of the College, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the SC community and with the public.
Train and coach the acrobatics & tumbling team and recruit appropriately qualified student-athletes.
Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and provide encouragement, support, and referral assistance as appropriate.
Supervise and monitor roster and athletic enrollment goals in accordance with the established College financial aid policies for the acrobatics & tumbling, cheer, and dance programs.
Provide faculty members with the names of student-athletes and the dates they will be away from campus for athletic competitions.
Control budget expenditures for acrobatics & tumbling and control and maintain athletic equipment. Provide reports to the Director of Athletics as requested.
Assist with appropriate athletic publicity in cooperation with the Director of Athletics Communication.
Develop appropriate schedule for intercollegiate competition and make all necessary arrangements (i.e. transportation, meals, housing, etc.).
Work in cooperation with the Director of Athletics and the Director of Athletics Communication to promote and increase attendance and revenue at athletic competitions.
Meet with potential students as designated by the Office of Admissions while recruiting.
Submit to the Director of Athletics lists of all potential student-athletes prior to the beginning of the season for the determination of eligibility.
Participate in continuing education and testing programs as required by the NCAA, conference affiliation, or Simpson College.
Abide by all regulations, policies, and procedures of the NCAA, conference affiliation, and Simpson College, including the Simpson College Code of Ethics for Coaches.
Monitor and enforce players’ compliance with Simpson College Code of Ethics for Student-Athletes.
Implement and develop fundraising strategies through booster clubs, camps, and other projects to support annual operating budget.
Qualifications
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate: Valid Driver’s License, CPR Certification, and all relevant acrobatics & tumblingtraining & safety certifications required for coaching a D III intercollegiate athletic program. Experience coaching is preferred. Master's Degree preferred. Bachelor's required.
