Are you passionate about equestrian sports and have a knack for leadership? We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Equestrian Coach to lead our intercollegiate equestrian program to new heights. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall operation and management of the program, including coaching our talented riding teams, recruiting prospective student-athletes, handling administrative tasks, engaging in public relations, and driving fundraising efforts. competes in The Summit League for all sports except football (Missouri Valley Football Conference), wrestling (Big

Conference), and women’s equestrian (National Collegiate Equestrian Association). This is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Recruitment of Student-Athletes:
Evaluate and recruit prospective athletes through communication, visits, and official/unofficial visits.
Maintain accurate recruiting records and contact logs.
Supervise and Develop Student-Athletes:
Instruct and coach athletes in jumping seat and western disciplines.
Plan and oversee practice sessions; ensure compliance with
NCAA
guidelines.
Monitor academic progress and class attendance; counsel and discipline as needed.
Ensure safety by monitoring equipment and facilities.
Administrative and Public Relations:
Coordinate contest schedules, team travel, and home event arrangements.
Manage budgets, equipment, and facility scheduling.
Attend meetings, social functions, speaking engagements, and assist with fundraising.
Handle media requests and manage staff and horse health.
Supervise Program Personnel:
Assist in hiring, provide training and guidance, ensure compliance with rules and policies.
Conduct performance evaluations.

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Bachelor’s degree by application date;
At least three years collegiate coaching, riding instructor or
NCEA
experience – an equivalent combination will be considered;
Knowledge of and experience in recruitment of student-athletes, supervision of staff and budget management;
Knowledge of and/or experience in providing care for competition horses;
Commitment to promote an atmosphere of compliance and adherence to institutional, conference and
NCAA
rules and regulations;
Commitment to achieving high graduation rates;
Demonstrated fundraising, promotion and public relations experience;
Effective communication (oral, written and interpersonal) skills; and
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Master’s degree;
Knowledge of Western and Jumping Seat disciplines;
Knowledge of
NCAA
Division I rules and regulations;
Division I collegiate coaching experience; and
Head coach experience.
