This position has a budgeted hiring rate of $56,000 - $58,000. The position is classified as an AO. The AO salary band for all full-time, 12-month positions at the college with this classification have a minimum rate of $43,880 and a maximum rate of $93,750. For benefit purposes only, the workweek is estimated to be 35 hours per week. The actual schedule for exempt positions may vary based on the workload and responsibilities assigned.

Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the head coach directs and manages a varsity intercollegiate sport program at the college and, in general terms, is responsible for practice and game preparation, as well as recruiting, retention and program administration within that program. In addition, head coaches are responsible for the proper utilization of facilities and equipment, scheduling of practices, athletic contests and designated special functions. Other duties will be assigned.
Specific Responsibilities
Plan, organize and conduct all practices and contests.
Hire, supervise and evaluate all assistant coaches.
Recruit, enroll, and retain a diverse group of highly qualified student athletes for successful participation at the varsity athletic level.
Advise and direct team members, captains, Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) team representatives and team managers.
Prepare a schedule in conjunction with the Athletic Director that complies with departmental policies, goals, and objectives.
Submit all sport budget and equipment requests for approval prior to purchase adhering to department and college budget policies and procedures and schedule.
Administer the sport budget in a fiscally responsible manner.
Coordinate team travel, housing and meals. Submit a travel itinerary before every away event.
Complete the pre-season checklist (see department manual)
Demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, and conduct becoming of the coaching profession adhering to all college and professional sport association guidelines
Adhere to all NCAA, Centennial Conference, ECAC and sport rules and regulations.
Monitor and support the academic progression of team members, develop and enforces team policies, and represent program to external constituencies.
Attend all required NCAA, Centennial Conference, ECAC and departmental meetings.
Manage and conduct a yearly inventory of all uniforms and equipment with the equipment room personnel and submit a new uniform and equipment request as part of the annual budget process.
Complete the post-season checklist (see department manual).
Communicate and cooperate with the training staff regarding athletic medical clearances, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and status of injured athletes.
Communicate and cooperate with the SID office in promoting the team and individuals and coordination of game management.
Communicate and cooperate with the SAAC representative to arrange for team participation in SAAC events.
Submit an end of the season report including eligibility status of each student athlete, equipment inventory, year-end self-evaluation and summary of season to the Athletic Director at annual post-season meeting.
Keep the department, the college and the Director informed of all roster additions and deletions as they occur.
Schedule the use of game and practice facilities with the department.
Assure that all game uniforms, practice clothes, and equipment are returned within one week of the last contest.
Communicate and cooperate with all team alumni / development programs including "The Green and Gold" and institutional advancement activities.
Organize and conduct at least one team community service activity annually working with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Communicate, cooperate and assist the athletics recruiting coordinator and the athletics recruiting liaison with team recruiting reports/programs.
Support the development of an annual report of records and results including statistical analysis of team performances with the Sports Information Director.
Support the offices of Institutional Advancement, Alumni Engagement and Parent Relations with fundraising efforts and alumni activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
Designated as a "mandatory reporter," otherwise known as a Campus Security Authority, to report any information about potential, active or previously occurring crime(s) on campus as defined through federal regulation to the Department of Campus Safety immediately upon learning about them.

Follow the policies and procedures established by the appropriate Data Stewards.
Comply with federal and state laws and regulations as well as College policies, procedures, and standards associated with the College computing resources and institutional data used.
Use institutional data only as required for the conduct of College business within the scope of employment.
Implement safeguards prescribed by appropriate Data Stewards for Limited Access and Restricted Data.
Ensure the appropriateness, accuracy, and timeliness of institutional data used for the conduct of College business.
Report any unauthorized access, data misuse, or data quality issues to the appropriate Data Steward for remediation.
Accept and complete the confidentiality statement yearly if access includes Restricted data.
Report any suspected data breach to the CIO and the IT Help Desk as soon as possible.
Requirements:
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred.
Successful coaching and/or teaching experience.
Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills required.
Experience at the intercollegiate level as a coach and administrator preferred.
Valid driver's license with two or less points.
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely working in an indoor/outdoor athletic complex with some exposure to adverse conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Abilities/Physical Characteristics
This position requires the ability to lift, pull, push, and move objects in weight up to 50lbs regularly. Some time is spent performing manual labor. Specifically, this position requires the following.
Ability to work in noise, heat, cold, odors, dirt, outdoor temperatures, snow.
Ability to repetitively push and pull objects weighing up to 80lbs without assistance while kneeling, squatting, reaching above the head, the waist, and below the knees. Must be able to bend at the knees.
Ability to repetitively push and pull equipment (for example, goals, hand truck, uniform bins ?) containing product loads a minimum of 100 yards without assistance.
Ability to repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Ability to exert oneself physically over sustained periods to complete job activities including walking outside to all athletics facilities and back (up to three miles/day).
Ability to stand a minimum of 6 hours during the workday.
