  • Establish excellent working relationships with the faculty to ensure academic success for all students.
  • Supervise a competitive Division III football program that fully complies with all applicable NCAA, OAC, and institutional rules and policies.
  • Use safety considerations in every decision: practice, games, travel, etc.
  • Oversee and support the football program’s effort to recruit a broadly diverse group of student-athletes, ensuring that the student-athletes recruited to and competing for Muskingum can manage demands of a rigorous academic curriculum and excel in a NCAA Division III athletics program.
  • Work closely with admissions and financial aid departments to understand and target the best recruiting plan for student-athletes.
  • Coordinate and develop successful retention efforts.
  • Serve as a key relationship builder with alumni, parents, and friends of the program: articulate Muskingum’s Football’s plans and visions to potential donors in close collaboration with the Office of Institutional Advancement.
  • Schedule and manage practices and games in cooperation with the Director of Athletics.
  • Plan and execute specific roster goals and team membership procedures.
  • Identify, attract, and retain coaches who exhibit strong commitment to the values of the University, including open and honest communication, enthusiasm, and creativity.
