More than a coach, the leader of the Golden Ram Football program is a prominent university ambassador, a mentor to students, and a strategic leader within the Department of Athletics. This individual is responsible for setting the vision for the program and ensuring its operations align with the highest standards of the university and the NCAA. The Head Football Coach is a key leader within the campus community and must embody the values we seek to instill in our students. The ability to connect with and champion the university's broader mission is essential for success.
The Head Football Coach provides visionary and results-driven leadership for the football program. This role is charged with upholding the University's mission by fostering a team culture grounded in academic achievement, competitive fire, and holistic personal development. The coach will be instrumental in continuing to strengthen the national visibility and positive momentum of Golden Ram Football, ensuring the program reflects the excellence of the institution it represents. Executing this vision requires excellence across several key strategic domains.

Serving as a visible and active ambassador for Albany State University and the Golden Rams football program on local, regional, and national levels.
Actively leading and participating in fundraising initiatives, alumni relations, sponsorship development, and community outreach to generate resources and support for the program.
Successfully executing these strategic priorities requires a distinct profile of leadership, experience, and character.
Performing all other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of collegiate coaching experience
Master's degree.
Head coaching experience at the NCAA Division I or II level.
More than five (5) years of full-time coaching experience at the NCAA Division I or II level.
Demonstrated success in recruiting student-athletes within the state of Georgia and the broader Southeast region.
Professional experience at an HBCU or another NCAA Division II institution.
