York Country Day School seeks a candidate who is a champion for robotics education and is highly motivated and effective in guiding middle and upper school students through the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) competitive robotics program. This candidate will have the opportunity to develop the team's technical and non-technical skills, manage the team’s engineering design process, and expand the team's outreach to the community. The FTC Head coach will recruit and collaborate with other team mentors and work closely with the Director of Robotics and Engineering throughout the season and off-season. YCDS is an affiliate of York College of Pennsylvania and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools.

A stimulating learning experience and a successful competition season for all students and mentors, to serve as a resource for the school in alignment with the School’s mission.

The FTC Head coach will be expected to:
The candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a robotics/STEM related field. Experience with the FIRST Robotics program and/or in the fields of engineering and/or computer science is desired.
The candidate should possess strong communication and collaboration skills, and have the ability to connect the team to resources and experts in the field and community. The candidate must also be able to apply supervisory skills, motivate students, be personable and professional, have patience with and understanding of students, and be able to learn and apply new concepts and ideas. Candidate must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Candidates must pass the FIRST background check in addition to the other required state and federal clearances.
