Founded in 1887, Alverno College (AC) is a four-year, Catholic liberal arts college for
undergraduate women sponsored by the School Sisters of St. Francis. The college also offers a

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director, the head coach will provide vision, leadership, and
oversight for all aspects of the golf program, including coaching; coordinating training; supporting
student-athletes; recruiting; and working within NCAA, Conference, and Alverno College
guidelines. The head coach will be called upon to supervise and coordinate the work of any assistant
coaches, as well as play a major role in fundraising activities for the program. The incumbent will
demonstrate a strong commitment to the academic achievement of student-athletes by monitoring
and actively encouraging participants to succeed academically and represent the College with the
utmost integrity. This individual will evaluate talent, contact prospects, and recruit new student-
athletes to Alverno College by working with Admissions. Attend all Conference and Departmental
meetings. Maintain a positive relationship with student-athletes, staff, faculty, volunteers, and fans.
Maintain positive professional relationships with other colleges, professional peers, and organizations
to remain current in trends particular to sport and further develop areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
Previous coaching and/or playing experience in assigned sport
Strong communication skills with faculty, staff, students, coaches, officials and the general public
A commitment to knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations
Must have demonstrated leadership abilities and an understanding of student development,
including the ability to balance student needs and take on an institutional perspective.
Demonstrated ability to establish good rapport and effective working relationships with student-
athletes, coaches, staff and alumni
Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary to attend practices and events
Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the qualifications of an Alverno driver
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
