Anderson University’s Office of Athletics invites applications for the role of full-time Head Basketball Coach. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The Head Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective and competitive NCAA Division II Basketball program that aligns strongly with the Christian mission of the University. Effective recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes is integral to this position. The head coach is responsible for all aspects of the Basketball program, including ongoing development of the student-athletes both inside and outside the classroom and will be expected to foster an environment that promotes the physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social growth of the student-athletes. Additional responsibilities include selecting and supervising excellent assistant coaching staff, managing all in-season and out-of-season practices, competitions, and other University fundraising events. The head coach should be prepared to fulfill any secondary duties within the Athletic Department or needed by the Vice President of Athletics. Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement.
Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years progressive coaching experience; master’s degree preferred. Knowledge and compliance of all rules and guidelines set by the NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference required. Ability to uphold confidentiality, work collaboratively and exhibit Anderson University’s Christian mission through all interactions also required. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills essential.
