Head Coach – Football

This position is responsible for organizing and overseeing all phases of the Football
program.
Responsibilities and Primary Activities:
• Year-long recruiting of prospective student-athletes and complete management
of the football program following NAIA, Appalachian Athletic Conference, and
university guidelines.
• This individual will lead all aspects of the program, including but not limited to,

This position is responsible for organizing and overseeing all phases of the Football
program.
Responsibilities and Primary Activities:
• Year-long recruiting of prospective student-athletes and complete management
of the football program following NAIA, Appalachian Athletic Conference, and
university guidelines.
• This individual will lead all aspects of the program, including but not limited to,
the management of assistant coaches and graduate assistant coaches, game and
practice plans, travel, budget, equipment maintenance, etc. This coach’s
philosophy must include educating the whole student-athlete spiritually,
academically, and athletically.
• The Head Coach will schedule non-conference games in collaboration with the
AVP and VP of Athletics.
• The Head Coach represents the department’s mission and vision, which align
with the University's.
• Maintains communications and regular contact with prospective student-
athletes.
• Organizing prospective student-athlete day and campus visits with the
Admissions office.
• Year-long program management monitors the academic progress of student-
athletes and works with off-season conditioning programs.
• Scouting of opponents by attending games, viewing videos, or obtaining other
scouting reports
• Commitment to community engagement and fundraising activities
• The position requires travel during the week and weekends.
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and prior coaching experience are
required, master’s degree and collegiate level coaching preferred. An ideal candidate will
possess experience demonstrating strong coaching skills, good verbal and written
communication skills, the ability to keep accurate records and stats along with
experience with Word and Excel programs, and the desire to act as a mentor and role
model to the student athletes.
