Head Coach, Men's Golf

Serve as the Head Coach for the Saint Joseph’s University intercollegiate men’s golf program.
● Teach, coach, mentor, and inspire student-athletes up through graduation.
● Determine individual and team strengths, and strategies to maximize performance.
● Develop season practice and game schedules designed to enable Saint Joseph’s to
be competitive in the Atlantic 10 conference.
● Lead the creation of a strong team culture. Embrace and facilitate topics related to
diversity, equity, and inclusion — including fostering team dialogue, recruiting diverse
student-athletes and staff (if applicable), and supporting departmental efforts.
● Identify and recruit student-athletes who are capable of competing successfully on the
NCAA
Division I level and who are capable of succeeding academically and
graduating.
● Administer all aspects of the program, including compliance, scheduling, facilities,
travel, scholarships, equipment and supplies, marketing, fundraising, and alumni relations.
● Hire, develop, and evaluate assistant coaches (paid and volunteer, if applicable).
● Stay within fiscal and budgetary guidelines for the men’s golf program.
● Collaborate with University Advancement staff to design and implement a strategy to meet
the men’s golf annual fundraising goal.
● Ensure that appropriate safety precautions are taken in practice, competition, and
during team travel.
● Lead the team in a manner that respects the mission of Saint Joseph’s Athletics to
transform student-athlete lives and achieve competitive excellence. Treat
student-athletes, colleagues, and opponents with respect. Represent Saint Joseph’s with
integrity.
● Carry out the obligations and duties associated with the coach’s role as a
Campus Security Authority under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus
Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
● Hold student-athletes and staff accountable for infractions of rules, regulations, and policies.
● Attend coaches’ meetings and other department and University meetings as required
● Assist in the promotion of the program whenever and wherever possible. Interact with
alumni and promote healthy participation on their part in the program.
● Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings, early mornings and
weekends.
● Position requires frequent travel.
● Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
● Minimum of 3-5 years experience coaching or teaching golf.
● Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to
NCAA
and member conference rules
and regulations.
● Current
CPR

AED
, and First Aid certifications must be maintained.
● Valid driver’s license and successful clearance of motor vehicle record check.
● Understanding of and commitment to the mission of Saint Joseph’s University.
● Successful background check clearances to include a PA Criminal Records Check,
FBI
Fingerprinting Check and PA Child Abuse Clearance Check.
● Master’s degree.
● Coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level.
● Playing experience at the collegiate or professional level.
● Applicable golf coaching qualification or certification.
