Position Summary: This position is responsible for the development, conduct and overall supervision of the men’s and women’s golf programs.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Develop a detailed recruitment plan that will allow the program to be in a position of competitive leadership in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC). Inform prospects of University academic programs, talent evaluation, coordinating mailings, telephone calls, and email exchanges. Actively monitoring the complete recruitment process, on campus and off campus through in person contacts. Work effectively with the Director of Athletics and Office of Enrollment Services to satisfy roster size, recruitment and retention outcomes.
Foster an atmosphere of competitive leadership in the California Pacific Conference through sport specific athlete development. Attend, plan, develop, and direct all team training and conditioning activities in the traditional and nontraditional segment.
Assist with the retention of student athletes through social and academic counseling; interaction with University retention team and coaching staff. Retention of student-athletes, along with support of Student-Athlete Services, by effectively coordinating and communicating attendance to all department sponsored events.
Assist the Athletics Department in various initiatives assigned by the director of athletics and other University official.

Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred
Experience: Previous collegiate coaching preferred.
Specific Skills: Knowledge of NAIA philosophy, recruitment, rules and regulations.
Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Yes. Organizational skills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, data entry and budget management skills and demonstrated supervisory skills.
Valid driver’s license; CPR/First Aid/ AED certification
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather.
- Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person.
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away or are more than a few feet away. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. General Customer service and office environment.

Travel (If applicable): Yes
Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable): Yes. Oversee volunteer and assistant coaches (if any).
Working Conditions: Office and outdoor environment. Nights and weekends required.
Training: As a University employee you are required to complete all University-specific and/or OSHA related training to fulfill your job duties. Specific training will be conducted online or in person. Employees must complete all trainings required by Benedictine University.
