3. Works with the Athletics Game Day & Events Coordinator assisting with summer and off season camps Duties and Responsibilities:
4. Directs Men’s Soccer Program
   • Leads the SSU Soccer Program through planning, direction and structure to meet the goals of the institution and the team. Ensures the team operates within the guidelines of the University, River States Conference, and the NAIA rules.
   • Provides on field coaching and game preparation, film evaluation & scouting for both team and individual skill improvement.
   • Develops schedules for practice and competition and ensures the availability and maintenance of equipment and facilities. Oversees travel plans, coordinates video, opponent scouting, etc.
   • Responsible for selecting and supervising volunteer and paid assistant coaches, overseeing budgets (operating and scholarship) and executing fundraising plans.
   • Recruits, evaluates and monitors student athletes who represent Shawnee State well in academics, discipline, and sportsmanship. Motivates athletes to be good examples to the university community.
   • Coordinates, runs and administers summer camp (individual, team, summer leagues, etc.) programs.
   • Coordinates with regional schools and community groups in scheduling turf usage.
5. Serves as Athletic department liaison for SSU Center for International Programs & Activities
   • Works closely with Center for International Programs & Activities (CIPA) staff in serving international athletes.
   • Maintains compliance and facilitates engagement between international student athletes and other students.
   • Support activities for international students coming to Shawnee State University and coordinates activities related to employment of international athletes.
   • Ensures the university established goals and objectives for enrollment of international students by working in collaboration with Admissions and CIPA offices.
   • Supports the academic success and personal well-being of international students by assisting them in effectively utilizing the resources of the University and providing leadership.
6. Works with the Athletics Game Day & Events Coordinator and other coaches assisting with summer and off-season camps
   • Serves as a liaison with the Head Coaches for sports camps, helps manage facilities schedules, equipment requests, and camp processes (arrival/dismissal, orientation, etc).
   • Serves as a liaison with the camp coordinators in regards to schedules, facilities coordination and staff issues.
   • Ensure camp operations are running smoothly by remaining in contact with camp staff.
   • Interact in a positive, professional and cooperative manner with families, and athletic staff; handle appropriate questions or concerns.

Minimum Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level.
2. Knowledge of coaching strategies, recruiting, eligibility rules, River States Conference and NAIA eligibility.
3. Knowledge of the workings of higher education in regard to student retention and progress toward graduation.
4. Good communication skills to speak with recruits, parents, and students.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Sports Administration/Coaching or related field
2. Two (2) to three (3) years related experience
3. University Motor Vehicle Review (MVR) Approval

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree or higher in an administrative field (Sports Management or Administration).
2. Collegiate Head coaching experience.
3. Experience supporting international student-athletes.
4. Successful recruiting and student retention experience.

Working Conditions Active, must be able to conduct practice, outdoors (bad weather) every day, work weekends and evenings.
