Overview

The Head Men’s Tennis Coach provides strategic leadership for all aspects of a Division I tennis program, including planning and conducting practices, developing competitive game strategies, and maximizing student-athlete performance. The Head Coach is responsible for recruiting, developing, and mentoring high-character student-athletes who excel both on the court and academically, while cultivating a values-driven team culture. The Head Coach leads, evaluates, and collaborates with assistant coaches and support staff. The Head Coach is responsible for ensuring full compliance with all University, league, NCAA and ITA rules while serving as the primary ambassador for the program within the campus community and beyond.

Required Skills and Abilities

  1. Knowledge of effective coaching techniques and best practices.
  2. Ability to work in a diverse environment and maintain effective relationships with administrators, parents, students, and alumni.
  3. Ability to organize and manage all facets of the program, including recruiting, scouting, individual instruction, budget planning, and monitoring academic progress.
  4. Ability to lead and work independently as well as within a team environment; knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
