The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA) invites applications and nominations for the full-time position of Head Coach for the Varsity Offshore (OS) Sailing Program. This position is responsible to the Athletic Director. This individual will be responsible for fielding a highly competitive Varsity Offshore Sailing team as well as supporting the institutional Sailing program throughout the year. In addition to coaching, the Head Coach is responsible for organizing, directing, and administering the program, to include the maintenance infrastructure for the fleet, supervising assistant coaches, and volunteer coaches for the Varsity Offshore Sailing (OS) team, and evaluating their performance. Additional duties include fundraising and external communications and outreach for the teams. This individual will be responsible for planning and coordinating USNA hosted regattas, and team travel to away regattas. The individual would work with the Director, Naval Academy Sailing and Associate Director of Athletics for Finance regarding the operating budget for the OS team. Other important duties include fiscal management, computer and multi-media skills and practice and compliance with Naval Academy rules and regulations. Salary commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications: Extensive regatta and competitive sailing experience, and sailing instructor experience.
Preferred: US Sailing Certifications, program management experience
