Head Coach – Spirt Teams

Augustana University invites application for the position of Head Coach – Spirit Teams. This position is responsible for the leadership, management, and overall direction of the university’s cheerleading, dance team, and mascot programs. This position serves as the primary administrator and technical coach for all spirit groups, ensuring high standards of performance, safety, academic success, and representation of Augustana Athletics at campus, athletic, community, and national events. The position works in close collaboration with athletics, the university marching band, and external partners to advance the visibility and success of the spirit programs.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide comprehensive leadership and oversight for all cheerleading, dance team, and mascot programs. 
  • Direct, coordinate, and supervise all spirit program activities with assistance from assistant and volunteer coaches.
  • Coordinate and manage spirit group appearances and performances at athletic events, campus activities, community engagements, and national events.
  • Ensure high-quality performance standards and maximize crowd engagement and team support.
  • Coordinate scheduling and collaboration with the Augustana Marching Band when applicable.
