Position Summary Information
| Position Purpose |
The Head Strength & Conditioning Coach is responsible for the overall organization, direction, supervision, and administration of Mansfield University’s NCAA Division II Strength & Conditioning program. The Head Coach will design, implement, assess, and monitor strength & conditioning programs for all 13 intercollegiate athletic teams. In conjunction with the Athletic Training staff, the Head Coach will assist in ensuring compliance with the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) rules and weigh-in procedures while ensuring the health and safety of the participants. The Head Coach is responsible for coordination of all functions associated with the intercollegiate athletics weight room including team schedules, upkeep and inspection of all equipment and security of the area.

| Description of Duties |
- Design, implement, assess, monitor all strength & conditioning activities for 12 NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletic programs, plus Sprint Football
- Helps to ensure compliance with CSFL rules and player health & safety as it regards weigh-in protocols and procedures
- Schedules team strength & conditioning activities both in-season and out of season as well as creates summer programs for each sport
- Participates in fund-raising activities to supplement the weight room budget
- Plans equipment purchases in consultation with the Director of Athletics
- Supervises and monitors student work study employees
- May be asked (and required) to provide help on other campuses of Commonwealth University

Monitors all expenses associated with the strength & conditioning operation and reports such to the Director of Athletics.

Supervises appropriate work-study students as assigned.

| Minimum Requirements Profile |
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field
- Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) certification or comparable professional certification meeting NCAA requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- CPR, AED, First Aid certification

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field
- Prior Strength & Conditioning coaching experience at the collegiate level
- Playing or coaching experience in the PSAC or NCAA Division II

| Background Clearances |
Offers of employment are conditional, pending successful completion of the background clearances mandated by Act 153 of 2014 and Board of Governors Policy 2014-01-A: Protection of Minors. In order to qualify for a provisional appointment, the Applicant Acknowledgement Consent Form, Provisional Hire Form, Pennsylvania State Police and Justifacts portion of the clearance process must be successfully completed prior to your start date. The remaining PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Clearance must be successfully completed and returned as soon as possible within the first 90 days of employment.
