The Head Women's Lacrosse Coach is responsible for leading and managing the Women's Lacrosse program, ensuring alignment with the College's values, the Department of Athletics, NAIA regulations, and conference standards. This role focuses on recruiting student-athletes, overseeing team operations, and fostering personal and athletic development. This position works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision of the Athletic Director.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Executes all aspects of the Women's Lacrosse program to achieve objectives aligned with the College, the Department of Athletics, and NAIA/conference regulations.Â
Recruits and retains highly skilled NAIA student-athletes for the Womenâs Lacrosse team.Â
Develops, monitors, and manages the annual budget for the program.Â
Ensures that student-athletes and assistant coaches adhere to college policies, Department of Athletics guidelines, NAIA regulations, and conference rules.Â
Oversees the conduct and discipline of student-athletes.Â
Develops and implements a marketing plan to enhance the visibility and support of the sport.Â
Organizes and conducts team practices, including strength and conditioning sessions and competitive games.Â
Counsels student-athletes on participation in the sport and personal development, focusing on academic and athletic success.Â
Collaborates with Admissions and Financial Aid to recruit student-athletes.Â
Selects, supervises, and evaluates assistant coaches and support personnel.Â
Monitors and encourages the academic progress of student-athletes.Â
Travels overnight as required for competitions and team activities.Â
Works evenings and weekends during the season and as needed.Â
Performs additional functions and duties as requested by the Director of Athletics.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:Â
Bachelorâs degree in sports management, business, science or closely related field; Masterâs preferred.
Must have at least two (2) years of successful lacrosse coaching experience, preferably at the college/university level.
Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level or equivalent with a proven track record of success.
Must have a thorough understanding of NAIA regulations and guidelines.
Proven ability to recruit skilled players for the respective sport.
Ability to counsel student-athletes on personal conduct, academic performance, and athletic participation, with an emphasis on sportsmanship.Â
Proficiency in preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports, particularly concerning budget-related data.Â
Must be able to work flexible hours which may include early/late hours, occasional weekends, and the ability to travel.
Must have a valid SC Driverâs License with an acceptable driving record.
Must be qualified to operate, willing and able to safely drive a 12 or 15-passenger van which is consistent with the Collegeâs insurance regulations.
Must pass a background check.
Must have a high attention to detail and maintain a personal standard of excellence.
Must have desire and knowledge to help maintain sports facilities as needed for practice and game day competitions.
Required to report any athlete/team issues that are detrimental to the team, department, or college; any illegal activities must be reported immediately.
Must be willing to work within and follow the guidelines of the College, and the Department of Athletics at all times.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work requires the ability to move and lift 30 to 50 pounds independently and be able to perform strenuous physical labor, and the ability to exert 30 to 50 pounds of force frequently. May be required to use a ladder. Also requires frequent bending, squatting, standing, reaching, climbing, kneeling, stooping, crawling, and occasional sitting. May be required to occasionally work in small, hard to reach spaces. Work is performed both inside a facility and outdoors in all weather conditions. Some hazardous situations may exist based on work to be performed.

Work environment may risk exposure to bright/dim light, dusts and pollen, extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, extreme noise levels, vibration, fumes and/or noxious odors, moving machinery, electrical shock, heights, disease/pathogens, toxic/caustic chemicals.
