Responsibilities:
Player Development:
Design and implement effective training programs to enhance players' individual skills, including stick work, shooting, defensive techniques, and overall game strategy.
Conduct regular and structured practice sessions to optimize team performance.
Provide constructive feedback to players on their performance and support their overall development on and off the field.
Game Strategy and Analysis:
Develop game plans and strategies to maximize team strengths and exploit opponents' weaknesses.
Analyze game footage to assess team and individual performance, providing feedback for improvement.
Collaborate with assistant coaches to refine and adapt game strategies based on opponents and team dynamics.
Recruitment and Retention:
Identify and recruit talented student-athletes to join the women's lacrosse program.
Build relationships with high school coaches, club teams, and potential recruits to maintain a strong pipeline of talented players.
Develop strategies to retain athletes and foster a positive team culture that promotes a sense of belonging and commitment.
Compliance and Academic Support:
Ensure compliance with all university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Support student-athletes in balancing academic and athletic responsibilities, providing resources and guidance to promote academic success.
Team Management and Leadership:
Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
Demonstrate effective leadership by setting clear expectations, communicating openly, and promoting accountability among team members.
Address disciplinary issues promptly and professionally, maintaining a high standard of conduct within the program.
Community Engagement:
Engage with the local community to promote the women's lacrosse program and build support.
Organize and participate in community outreach events, camps, and clinics to grow the sport and connect with potential future players.
Facility and Equipment Management:
Coordinate with athletic department staff to ensure proper maintenance of facilities and equipment.
Manage and oversee the use of equipment, uniforms, and practice facilities efficiently.
