The Head Coach, Women’s Soccer is responsible for planning, developing and managing the operations of Chicago State’s University’s women’s soccer program.
Specific duties include, among others:
• Oversee and guide growth and development of a young program
• Evaluate and recruit prospective student-athletes and manage scholarship offers
• Develop programs and procedures with respect to the training and coaching of student-athletes to compete successfully while assuring their welfare
• Observe and uphold all academic standards, requirements and policies of Chicago State University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics
• Monitor, on a regular and consistent basis, student-athletes to ensure that they are attending class, completing assignments and exams, performing to their highest academic potential, obtaining the highest grades possible, and graduating in a timely manner
• Cooperate with the development of and strictly adhere to budgets allocated for the Women’s Soccer program
• Supervise the performance of any assistant coach and other personnel that may be assigned to the Women’s Soccer program
• Work cooperatively with the University’s Faculty Athletics Representative (“FAR”) and compliance personnel on compliance matters, including, but not limited to, audits or investigations, and
NCAA
rules education;
• Make recommendations with respect to the scheduling of all contests, including opponents, dates, places and times
• Assist in fundraising activities to maximize all sources of athletically-related income for the benefit of Chicago State University’s intercollegiate athletics program
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics or by a member of the Senior Administrative staff
Bachelors degree
Three to five years of collegiate or professional coaching experience.
Master’s Degree
Division I coaching experience
Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential functions.
Function and communicate respectfully within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.
Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
Ability to lead by example in communicating, participating, and encouraging support of the institution and department of athletics mission and vision.
Strong oral, presentation, and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with students, parents, staff, faculty, and external constituents of the college.
Knowledge of collegiate soccer specific training software
Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make effective decisions based on facts and sound judgment.
Self-directed, innovative and a strong problem solver in setting priorities and meeting goals.
Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to
NCAA
rules and regulations.
Skill in coaching and/or competing as an athlete at the college, university, Elite Club, or Professional level.
Ability to adhere to and ensure compliance with
NCAA
and conference rules and regulations, and ability to lead and nurture a diverse student and administrative population.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently efficiently and effectively.
Ability to multitask, work effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability and willingness to continuously learn to improve coaching strategy and ability.

May need to help athletes complete key workouts by providing pacing assistance.
This position is subject to periods of sitting; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk/run moderate distances to perform work.
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
